NOTES:

Line was originally the Southern end of the line stretching from Prai before the continuation South past Tampin towards Gemas.

This line was reputedly the most scenic of all around the network with hills, cris-crossing rivers and rice fields in such a short span.

It was dismantled by the Japanese during World War II in the early 1940s for the construction of the Burmese Death Railway. As with a number of other branch lines this was not reinstated.

Today, this line's remnants are still plenty to be seen, mostly in the form of intact (and still used, by road traffic) bridges, abutment, Alor Gajah station & godown platforms, Alor Gajah running-in board, and numerous telegraph poles. The godown was reportedly intact well into the 1960s when it was torn (burnt?) down. For a line that was dismantled more than 60 years ago the amount of remnants surpasses even the Batu Arang line which was dismantled much later.

A section of the line today crosses what is now the Melaka airport in Batu Berendam. The path of the line today is mostly traversable (converted into village lanes) except near Batu Berendam and a stretch between Alor Gajah and Melaka Pindah where it goes through an oil palm plantation.
