Why?
I simply like trains is all. I attribute this to my anglophilia
- the admiration of England and things English. As any trainspotter would
know, trainspotting is a very British passion.
What?
This site is hosted in Malaysia by MesraHosting.Net
on TMnet Internet connection, sharing 10GB space and 50GB bandwidth with
its parent site MyMalaya.com.
Software wise, I use Macromedia Dreamweaver 3, RivaVX FLV Encoder
Any
Video Converter, Adobe Photoshop CS2, and FileZilla.
The
tool used to take the videos is a simple Kodak EasyShare Z700
digital camera, which outputs to 320 X 240 ( some older videos were captured
at 640 X 480) Quicktime .mov files.
Beginning
February 2008, all new videos featured are captured by the webmaster using
the Canon Powershot S3 IS Digital Camera. The output is MJPEG-coded AVI
files at 640 X 480 pixels @ 30 fps, with stereo sound. The files are then
re-encoded into 400 x 300 .flv files for streaming on this web site.
I am working to get a full-fledged handycam - if you are feeling generous
and would like to contribute to that cause please know that I await any
kind of assistance with open arms ;-)
Where?
I typically spend my weekends near Kuang and Sungai Buloh because I love
the quietness and rural air of the town. Also because Kuang is a stopover
for the bulk of KTM's freight mainstay - cement and sugar with distribution
centres of both just outside town.
